Sittingbourne and the Surrounding Area
The modern market town of Sittingbourne and nearby Milton Regis have a rich history in paper-making, brick-making and barge-building - indeed it is because of these industries and Milton Creek that the town is where it is today! Nowadays most of the industry has gone and the town has turned it back on the Creek, but recently things have changed. £2million has been invested to regenerate the creek, creating Milton Creek Country Park in the heart of Sittingbourne.
The town offers activities for families, including swimming at the local leisure centre, Go Karting at Bayford Meadows or a visit to the Avenue Theatre. Sittingbourne is an great base to have your holiday – so close to the surrounding countryside which forms part of the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with attractive orchards and farmland, and beautiful villages with centuries-old churches.
